Your fancy is Golf? Then it's Lahinch Championship Golf Course, or the new Greg Norman designed Doonbeg Golf Course or the 9-hole Spanish Point Golf Course nearby. Horses and ponies are available locally. Quiet country roads, the coast and the beaches invite for walking and bicycling.
The many sandy beaches around also offer plenty of water activities - surfing, swimming - or just relaxing watching the waves rolling in from the Atlantic.

If you'd like it less active - spend your day sightseeing. There are the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren region, the Ailwee Caves, Bunratty Folk Park, the Loop Head Peninsula, well known for rare birds, dolphins and whale watching. Boats also leave from Carrigaholt and Kilrush Marina on Dolphin Watching tours.The town of Kilrush offers a outdoor activity centre for all kinds of water sports.

The area is also famous for the Traditional Irish Music and Set Dancing! Early booking for Willie Clancy Summer school is strongly recommended to avoid disappointment. There are also medieval banquets an Bunratty and Knappogue Castles.

If you'd rather stay indoors for the night, why not sit in front of a roaring turf or log fire with a good book, or simply sit and listen to the rhythm of the sea as it crashes on the rocks in the distance..
